Professor

My research program is focused on injury, inflammation and aging. Our goal is to understand the metabolic regulation in aging and injury to identify suitable targets to alter outcome after injury. In one of the projects we investigate the role of sirtuins in injury energetics using invitro and invivo models.

Associate Professor, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Senior Staff Fellow, National Institutes of Health; Research Associate, Mayo Medical School; Post-doctoral Fellow, University of Minnesota

My laboratory uses an integrated systems approach to solve biological problems. We currently use a hemorrhage model to understand the cellular processes altered following injury and to devise better therapeutic methods. My laboratory has extensive experience in molecular biology, functional genomics, proteomics and immunology. Current projects in my laboratory address trauma and sepsis.

Post doctoral training at the University of Minnesota and Mayo Medical School, Rochester, MN.
